FILMtech’s research and development laboratory assures your metallized products are ALWAYS of the highest quality and consistency. We design, produce and test new and existing film substrates for a wide variety of industries. We can assist in the design of new coating systems and evaluate the surface characteristics of evaporated aluminum on the surface of a film.
Our universal materials test system enables us to evaluate the full range of mechanical properties of materials, including surface energy, coefficient of friction, and strength of adhesion for both heat and cold seal materials utilizing 90- and 180-degree test methods. Materials can also be tested for optical density, electric resistance/conductance and uniformity.
Third-party testing for oxygen and moisture is conducted through our research partners – Ultimet Films Ltd. and Clemson University School of Packaging.
